Filming and Editing Extra Information

Throughout this process there was never a consistent timeline. We got off to a bad start with Alexa's house catching on fire and changing almost our entire plan on how we wanted this to go. We had to do a lot of things out of order to get this project done. When never stopped filming up until the last couple of days because there was always something we could add. We edited everything, when we were done filming for the day. We wanted to do it in sections and once we finished filming a section we'd finish editing that section completely. We made sure that every time we would film we would think about the amount of seconds we can't go over, so we could make sure everything fit. With that, it gave us our ideas of what we might want to add for the next scenes. The sole purpose of all our sleepovers, were to film whatever we needed left to film, then edit the in and be done with that section. We were both very detail oriented with every aspect of this project. We never did the bare minimum, we always wanted to do follow through on our ideas no matter how hard, or how much time it took up. Because the song we chose is so raw, we wanted to make it as easy for the audience to connect to the story line and the song. So we also focused on lighting during the scenes. To exemplify, during sad or depressing moments we'll see cooler tones, for moments that are lighter, happier, or just regular shots you might see warmer tones such as pink, orange, and light purple. We really felt that this was one of the best ways to connect the audience to the story. This experience has really shown us how passionate we are of our ideas. We wouldn't have enjoyed this project nearly as much if we weren't doing something that we can actually connect to. We honestly wanted to portray the realty of situations like the one in our music video. In this generation many young kids are searching for validation from people who just use them. If you only focus on the positives of relationships you'll never truly be happy with yourself or the people you've surrounded yourself with. It will end up being a continuous cycle of people using you, until there is not much left. And this message is want we whole heartedly wanted and intended to portray in this music video.
