Filming for my Music Video Blog
Since we had to end up filming at our friend's house who lives a bit far from me and Alexa we had to make sure we filmed as much as we could in this day. So when we got there we explained to him our idea and how we wanted to the scene to play it out. When filming we had to be cautious of we needed to wear in what scene and to stay organized when filming out of order. The storyboard helped a lot with this because it kept us focus which allowed us to film a lot of scenes. Since I was acting most of the time while filming Alexa would be the one videoing. She would show me the angle she was taking it from to make sure we liked it but overall she took over that aspect of it. Since I was the main actor I was mostly focusing on actually doing the part right. Since we're all really good friends it was hard not to laugh during scenes that were so intense and serious like our fighting scene. We had to take multiple takes of almost every scene to make sure we got one that fits our video perfectly. We also did a lot of extra scenes of me and the other actor going on "dates". We did this so we could fill in some spots if we had any, while editing that can still portray something in the story with out it being specifically designed for any spot in our music video. Like our stargazing scene wasn't really designer for any point in our music video, we just thought ahead, and made sure that our filler scene could still portray our relationship in the music video. Because we were filming out of order we always had to pay attention to the little details. Such as how we needed different outfits for different scenes to illustrate different days. Or making sure my makeup looked like I was crying during an intense scene. Even focusing on the lighting to connect to the mood of the scene. The scenes that I had to film that Alexa were in, I made sure every angle look appealing and had everything it needed in the shot. We both took some shots where we had to get creative which was really entertaining. We had to calculate the time of each scene while we were filming to make that it could fit into its spot in the music video while editing. We didn't want any unnecessary scenes in our music video that could throw off the storyline.
