Title research: (The call)

Title research: (The Call)

I watched my opening for this movie on youtube. Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4yMdgNdbkbw
  • What titles are displayed during the opening sequence? The audience sees a 911 dispatcher. Then a girl in distress as people are breaking into her house.
  • What images are prioritized in the opening sequence? The computer screen is shown a lot. It gives the audience a 3rdperson perspective. We get to see her and the girl in distress.
  • What connotations do these images carry? They make the audience feel uneasy. These images give the connotations of fear and anxiety. Just when you feel like everything is ok it's not.
  • How does the film establish a feeling of the genre from the outset? It's very unsettling from its start. The sound effects create some type of anxious feeling. However, it does it quite well while as yet being fairly puzzling. All fitting the class well indeed
  • What strategies are used to ensure the film appeals to its target audience? The poster gives off a somewhat unsettling vibe. We see a distressed look on her face.  Hense that makes the audience want to watch it. Her being puzzled makes the audience want to know more.
  • How has technology been used effectively? You want to consider camera angles, transitions, and editing techniques.  They use different clips and angles. Close-ups and some higher angles over the shoulder and such. All being seen through. The call from her and the girl's perspective.
