Short Film (Simple Robbery)

  AWARD-WINNING Thriller Short Film - A Simple Robbery (2020) Becky and Stacey are two friends who enjoy taking money from rich men. But tragedy strikes when a robbery didn't go as planned. Was hooked right from the opening credits! The American narration and comic undertone were clever, giving this another layer and made me feel ever so slightly at ease in the suspense moments! Professional acting and interesting characters, which are so hard to develop in such a short space of time. I think the concept was super solid and well-executed. One thing of note is that this film would have been a lot stronger without the voiceover. Make the audience think about what is happening, don't feed them things. The voiceover made it a little childish and made this feel like a student film. Drama Common lighting in the genre drama is lowkey lighting, hard lighting, cinematic lighting, and side lighting. Some common camera angles are medium angle, close-up angle, extreme close-up angle, and the over-the-shoulder shot. Common camera movements are horizontal movements, hand-held movement, and verticle movement. The costumes usually fit the personality of each character. Props can literally be anything that falls into the situation or storyline. The settings are usually realistic and usually play into real-life characters. They edit in a way to leaves questions unanswered and an uncertain storyline. Common sounds in drama are the actor's voices, sound effects, the interaction with props, and background music. Some examples of the Drama genre are Me Before You and Parasite. Artistic writing is expressed mainly through dialogue. It is comprised of four elements: Character, Plot, Setting, and Symbolism.
