  Common Lighting - Uplighting, Silhouettes, Prominent Shadows Uplighting  creates weird shadows  around the eyes and distorts  faces, light from below looks  unnatural.  So,  it creates an  immediate alarm.  Silhouettes add a bit more to this  distortion because it plays upon  the human fear of the unknown. The shots and reversal help us to get a sense of the movie. Long shots provide the audience a better view of the movie. More time was provided to the audience to study the images. In this music video, we really wanted to capture the message of this song. Growing up in a society where we always feel although we need other's validation isn't healthy. Especially for young women and teens, we care so much about how people think of us, that we let others walk in our lives and take what they want. We can't be blinded by the good things people want us to see, then disregard the negatives.  We can't let people use, then manipulate us into thinking that what they did "wasn't that bad" or "normal". Alexa and I both understand that a lot of the scenes can be triggering, extreme, or inappropriate. However, we really believe that this is an appropriate way to shed light on such a real and raw situation that many people face today. This way we can really elevate the severity of the situation that this song is depicting.
