Production Blog: Starting to Edit
We've pretty much finished filming all of the clips at this stage. This means it's time to start editing everything! There are a lot of clips in all. Nonetheless, we had pretty much narrowed it down to which takes we wanted to hold and which we wanted to discard. That is to say, we have all of the footage we need to edit. Alexa began editing a bit earlier than this. She combined all of the positive scenes in one edit. She threw in a few fillers here and there to give her a rough guess. She actually had all of the clips. As a result, she combined them all in one edit. However, this isn't a particularly difficult task. The sound is the most difficult part. We'll have to edit a variety of sounds and various speech recordings. For example, we wanted the "911 Call" to be muffled. As a result, Alexa had to download "Audacity" in order to edit the video. With no prior training, this was very difficult. There are several components of this. The part when he swings the knife and "Kills" her is perhaps the most difficult. This because after this comes our monologue, followed by the whole call scene. That is, the music can be turned down or turned off entirely. Since we began editing, we've been pretty close.
