Intro Blog

Hi again! Now that I'm officially starting A level, I'm thrilled to see how my existing skills can develop and progress in this class over time. I'm a junior now at Fort Lauderdale High. I have learned so much last year. From planning and coming up with ideas. To then actually executing them, and putting the whole project together. My final task last year was so much fun. So now I'm excited to see what I can come up with this year. Media studies allowed me to let my creativity run wild. I used this class as an opportunity to make my ideas a reality. I've become so familiar with the filmmaking process. It really inspires me. Yet I know my editing skills could use a little more experience. I have noticed a new outlook while consuming different media texts. Now when viewing a film I imagine the process and reasoning behind certain sequences of events. Or when familiar camera angles and movements play across the screen. Or what was added during the editing process. I now understand the hard work and time that goes into the filmmaking process. An abundance of passion and dedication is needed from everyone in projects such as these. It's amazing to see what new movies directors come up with.

Music Video Intro blog

 For my music video project, I've decided on working with a partner. The person I have chosen to work with is Alexa Delgado. I've worked with her on previous projects before this one. Even on the projects that we were supposed to work individually, she'd always offer to help with anything I needed. We've known each other since kindergarten, and I believe this is the main determinant of why we work so well together. We also already see each other on a daily basis because we live so close together. She is one of my best friends, and we really understand each other, so we tend to have a lot of things in common. Like for example, our taste in music. Alexa brought up the idea of choosing the song violent crimes by Kanye West, which we then concluded as the song for our project pretty quickly. Filming Blog: Volleyball gym

On Sunday the 25th of October I went over to my friend's house so that we can prepare to film at a park near her house. While waiting in the house it started to rain. I then decided to reschedule filming later on in that week because I had other factors that ended up making me decided that I would now need to film indoors in a gym. Because I had volleyball practice, the only day I could film were the 29th and 30th of October after practice. I had to ask my coach prior to filming if it was okay. While filming I had my main actress named Amelia who was willing to do whatever I told her I needed, which was extremely helpful. In the opening scene, I really wanted to start off by emphasizing the intensity of the commercial to come. I did this by doing a tilt shot from her shoes to her face.
