Editing for my Music Video Blog
We never had a consistent time editing, so when editing we had to do it in pieces. We would film something and then upload to clip champs and see how it fits. Doing it this way made it easier to understand exactly what we needed. Since we couldn't film everything we wanted in one day, we would sit and talk out what needed to get done that day and what we could do another time. Alexa mostly took the lead on the editing aspect. While she was editing, I was still with her and we would talk the whole time about what we want. We really focused on making everything align well, in a way that would fit the theme of this song. If we had a clip that was too long, we would speed it up just a tad so that everything about the story in that clip could be incorporated. We even had to get clip champs premium because the music video would get pixelated when exporting it. One of the main things we also had to focus on was the amount of space and time we had to fit in another scene. We never wanted to settle for something if we couldn't figure out how too make our idea work. We kept going and moved clips around to get are scenes and our music video how we wanted it. I was very detailed oriented throughout this whole editing process. I made sure that all the lighting and look of the clips fit the theme of our music video. Whether it be changing the color tint/saturation or editing the speed and timing of each clip. We ended up having a lot of troubles with our editing software throughout the entire editing process. Clip champs would occasionally buffer so much that when editing, it would adjust everything back like two seconds. Which we would then have to sit and go through about 3 times to make sure it didn't ruin anything. Since Alexa's computer is the main one we use while editing it was hard to help edit with her over facetime. But we ended up making it work by having a bunch of sleepover and all-nighters to get this done the way we wanted it.
