Research  The song we will be using is "Violent Crimes" by Kanye West. This song is off the album "Ye". Which was realized on June 1, 2018. The cover was very hot because Kanye recently came out into the press about him being bipolar. So the album showcases the sentence, "I hate being bipolar it's awesome." He's afraid of her losing her overall innocents as they confront the brutal reality of the world. Kanye alludes to the over-sexualization of ladies, particularly those interiors in the entertainment industry. He wishes that when his girls develop up they’ll remain absent from the pastimes men sexualize. So we are basing our main charter as she faces the realities of growing. Kanye shows some mindfulness in this melody about poisonous relations among people. In his own past, he has acted like different men he portrays first and foremost. They are, "savage, monstrous, or sexually manipulative". He envisions himself shielding his littl...

Music Video Intro blog

Image
For my music video project, I've decided on working with a partner. The person I have chosen to work with is Alexa Delgado. I've worked with her on previous projects before this one. Even on the projects that we were supposed to work individually, she'd always offer to help with anything I needed. We've known each other since kindergarten, and I believe this is the main determinant of why we work so well together. We also already see each other on a daily basis because we live so close together. She is one of my best friends, and we really understand each other, so we tend to have a lot of things in common. Like for example, our taste in music. Alexa brought up the idea of choosing the song violent crimes by Kanye West, which we then concluded as the song for our project pretty quickly. Our video is going to portray the deeper meaning of this song. Kanye was basically talking about the uneasiness of his daughters growing up. The underlying message of what girls have to...

Creative Critical Reflection on Gatorade Commercial

Image
1. My product uses conventions such as the usual sports being portrayed. The workout outfits and training equipment add conventions in Gatorade commercials. It represents the social group of athletes or people training physically for their goals. It also usually represents social issues such as when you fail and feel as though you will never achieve your dreams, but they usually assist this issue by demonstrating that everyone fails a bit before they reach their goals. That you need to keep working hard and never give up if you want it bad enough. 2. My product engages with the audience by essentially empowering them to work hard for their goals. It demonstrates how being passionate and never giving up can help you to achieve your dreams. The real media text my commercial would be distributed in would be like ESPN or a channel that is broadcasting some sport because this will target an audience that you already know is interested and being motivated by sports.  3. My production ski...

My Gatorade Commercial Blog

In this Gatorade commercial, I strived to really incorporate all the movements and angles that our previous projects have consisted of. Such as when I used the tilt, pan, and zoom movements. Or the over-the-shoulder-shot and midshot angles. Also how I used the fade in and out edits while creating my commercial. The projects that we have done beforehand helped me to keep in mind what Cambridge and my teachers were looking for while filming. Looking back there a lot of aspects that I could've improved on in my production skills. Since this was the first time I really took charge and acted upon my own visions without anyone else's opinions on them, I did honestly feel very creative and original. I really wanted to emulate the original Gatorade and other sports commercials in mines. I feel that they all have a very passionate and motivational arrangement for them. It really plays upon the audiences' drive and wants, to better themselves. I really wanted to outline the struggles...

My Editing Blog

Image
While editing my commercial I learned and had to work through many things on my own. Since our last filming project was a group one, I had my friend who was better at editing than I was, take the lead. But now that we're doing an individual project I am much more knowledgeable about editing and editing software such as Clipchamps. I cut all my videos from filming on my iPhone editing tools which turned out to be a lot easier. When loading the media into Climpchaps I made sure I organized all the videos, background music, and the narration on my google drive to keep everything from becoming unorganized and problematic. Syncing up the videos so that they flowed nicely together really made all my other adjustments really come together in my head. I was lucky enough to find a song that fit my video perfectly and matched some of the beat drops on important scenes. My narrator was a friend who was really excited to play the role of the motivational speaker. I created the script fairly q...

Filming Blog: Volleyball gym

Image
On Sunday the 25th of October I went over to my friend's house so that we can prepare to film at a park near her house. While waiting in the house it started to rain. I then decided to reschedule filming later on in that week because I had other factors that ended up making me decided that I would now need to film indoors in a gym. Because I had volleyball practice, the only day I could film were the 29th and 30th of October after practice. I had to ask my coach prior to filming if it was okay. While filming I had my main actress named Amelia who was willing to do whatever I told her I needed, which was extremely helpful. In the opening scene, I really wanted to start off by emphasizing the intensity of the commercial to come. I did this by doing a tilt shot from her shoes to her face. Then an establishing shot of where she was which was a high school gym. Since the commercial is advertising Gatorade I really wanted to exemplify the highs and lows of training for a sport such as vo...
